One-Call Management

Our primary goal is the continued safety of our employees, the public, our assets and the environment.

Our company works hard to ensure that people who live and work in proximity of our pipeline systems do so in a safe manner. We’ve employed several measures to prevent individuals from causing damage to pipelines which could result in injury, death or environmental contamination.

With the goal of safety and zero incidents in mind, PMC has integrated a One Call ticket Management System with all the provincial One Call organizations. This ticket management system provides a standard approach to respond to, monitor, prioritize and report on pipeline locate requests through our partnership with One-Call centres across our operational areas.

Damage can be easily prevented through following a damage prevention process which includes  One-Call’s “Click or Call Before You Dig” system to place a pipeline locate request prior to excavation.

To place a One-Call in both Canada and the United States, please visit www.clickbeforeyoudig.com —the portal to all provincial and state operated One-Call websites. This is a free service to anyone who uses it and calling will cost you nothing - not calling could cost you everything.

PMC’s One-Call Ticket Process:

  • If you have planned activities near pipelines you are required to “Click or Call Before You Dig”. Here, you will be directed to your local One-Call centre.

  • The applicable One-Call centre will obtain dig information, such as location of work, type of work and timelines.

  • The One-Call centre will create a work ticket based on the dig information. The centre will identify and notify owners of buried infrastructure that are members of One Call that have facilities near the proposed work site.

  • If PMC has been identified as an operator in the area, we will receive the ticket and make contact with the requester, or visit a site within two working days (unless alternate arrangements have been made) to mark the location of buried PMC lines (if applicable).

One-Call efficiencies are critical to the reduction of damage and the promotion of a safe digging environment.
