Plains Midstream Sundre environmental storage view 2

Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is committed to conducting our operations in a manner that ensures the safety and security of the public, our employees and contractors; the safety, security and integrity of our assets; and the protection and stewardship of the environment.
To meet this commitment, PMC has embraced a Health and Safety Management System approach. Our business is complex with many interrelated and dynamic activities requiring a high degree of coordination. Our Health and Safety Management Program is widely regarded across many industries, domestically and internationally, as an effective way to coordinate complex operational activities to ensure expectations are met, risk is managed, and performance is improved.
Our safety management system is the Operations Management System, or “OMS”. It ensures that there is a framework of policies, programs, processes and procedures in place that we use to direct and control our activities to fulfill our commitments and objectives. The OMS guides how we plan, conduct and coordinate operational activities; it is the way we operate.
We continue to develop and implement enhanced systems, programs and processes throughout our organization. We work hard to measurably increase performance as we drive PMC's journey toward Operations Excellence.
In case of an actual or suspected emergency at any of our crude oil pipelines and terminals, or at our liquefied petroleum gas pipelines and facilities, please contact Plains Midstream Canada's 24-hour emergency number at: 1-866-875-2554.
Damage Prevention at PMC is a proactive, multi-functional approach to protecting and preventing damage to underground infrastructure, such as pipelines and power lines, from damage caused directly or indirectly by people.
Our dedication to the most stringent regulatory requirements and industry best practices is integral to the health and safety of the communities and environment in which we operate.
PMC’s commitment to the protection of the environment extends through all phases of project design and construction and complies with all federal and provincial acts and regulations to minimize or avoid adverse environmental effects.
Safety is an integral part of PMC’s culture. We conduct our operations in a manner designed to maintain the safety and security of the public, employees and contractors; the protection and stewardship of the environment; and the integrity of all our assets.
As part of our commitment to responsible operations, we promote public awareness with landowners and residents near our operations to share important safety and emergency response information.
